Having spent so much time at the Riu Palace RM just down from Riu Palace Mexico, we were not sure what to expect and selected this Palace resort because the other was about to close for renovations. This place did not let down.
The people are incredible. Oscar at the pool, Jesus at the front desk, Edwar at dinner, Manuel at the front, Francisco at the bar and so many more made this an incredible experience. I have a challenging time figuring out what to even say for a con. Here is a shortlist to help summarize our experience.
This hotel is the best one we have ever stayed in this is the 12 times we keep returning because the staff is so welcoming the food excellent the Mexican Riu staff are fantastic you can be very proud of all of them. The only thing I would do differently next year is to take a travel clock and pesos rather than dollars.
Family vacation and we had a wonderful time. The grounds are stunning, and the rooms were ever so comfortable — excellent beach access with well-planned activities for those so inclined to participate. The staff was top notch and left us wanting to return to the helmet diving cozumel mexico tour.
Rooms: could do with a total refurbishment a lot of the furniture looked like it had had its days! But always kept very clean, so do not let this put you off!.
Food: cannot fault the food. Plenty of choices, we can’t comment on the evening Buffett as we only ate in there twice, we just used all the a la carte restaurants every evening which were lovely.
Beach & pools: pool bar staff very attentive, always sun loungers free around the lakes and beach area at whatever time of the day, beach kept very clean, although we were fortunate as hardly had any seaweed during our stay.
